A new study funded by the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) sheds light on how clergy across denominations seek, evaluate and share information — and what gaps exist in their training and resources.

Examining people’s relationship with land and with all of creation will be the focus of the seventh Rooted and Grounded Conference on Land and Christian Discipleship, to be held Sept. 18–20 at AMBS.

A free concert to be held at Goshen (Indiana) College’s Sauder Concert Hall at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, will feature The Soil and The Seed Project, a Christian ministry that creates resources for spiritual renewal for individuals, families and communities.

Tara Swartzendruber-Landis, BA, of Goshen, Indiana, began Aug. 4 as Caterer in Residence. She serves as the primary point person for all dining events at AMBS.

René LeBlanc, BS, CFRM, of Abbeville, Louisiana, and Berne, Indiana, ended his time as Caterer in Residence for AMBS on July 31.

AMBS will host a book release celebration for What Happened at Benham West: African American Stories of Community, Displacement and Hope on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 6:30–8 p.m., at the seminary’s Library Gallery.

Thanks to a generous donation from Elkhart Public Library, The Anchor Bible is now available at the Meserete Kristos Seminary (MKS) Library in Ethiopia.

Lisa Guedea Carreño, MSLIS, has been appointed as Interim Director of Library Services for AMBS. She plans to serve from July 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026.

Karl Stutzman, MLS, plans to end his time as Director of Library Services for AMBS on July 24, after nearly 17 years of service.

These AMBS alumni and faculty members are scheduled to present at Mennonite Church USA’s Follow Jesus 2025 convention, to be held July 8–12 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
