ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) — Morgan N. Koehler of Freeman, South Dakota, was promoted to Director of Marketing and Communications for Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) in Elkhart, Indiana, effective Jan. 19, 2026. She has been serving AMBS as half-time Digital Marketing Manager since July 2023. She will work remotely from Freeman until the summer, when she plans to relocate to Elkhart.

In her new role, Koehler will provide strategic leadership for AMBS’s marketing, communications and digital engagement efforts. She will oversee institutional messaging, brand stewardship and communications strategy across admissions and development efforts, educational programs and external partnerships, while serving as a member of the Administrative Cabinet.

As Digital Marketing Manager, Koehler has been responsible for the seminary’s website and has overseen digital marketing, database management, and social media strategy and implementation. According to David Boshart, PhD, President, she has demonstrated strong organizational skills, digital marketing expertise, adaptability and a deep commitment to the mission and values of AMBS in her work for the seminary.

“Morgan understands the strategic needs of AMBS and has collaborated closely with Admissions, Development and our academic programs,” he said. “She brings a disciplined approach to planning, a clear sense of measurable goals, and a forward-thinking vision for digital engagement that will help AMBS connect with new and younger audiences. Her insight into how AMBS can stay ahead of communication trends is an asset for institutional strategy.”

Prior to joining AMBS, Koehler served as Development Director for Freeman Academy, a private Christian K-12 school in Freeman (2022–23); Marketing Communication Specialist for Blossm Social Media (now Goaldy Social Media) in Carmel, Indiana (2021–22); Marketing and Special Events Coordinator for UnityPoint Health in Peoria, Illinois (2017–20); and Marketing Coordinator for Snyder Village, a retirement community in Metamora, Illinois (2013–17). In these roles, she organized and led various fundraising campaigns and events; designed and implemented online and print marketing campaigns; and created content, managed data analytics reporting and oversaw strategies for social media accounts on diverse platforms.

Boshart noted that Koehler approaches her communications work with integrity and care, showing both creativity and practical problem-solving skills.

“Notably, her leadership for a prior employer in incorporating an online platform into a major fundraising event increased revenue, illustrating her ability to innovate while strengthening organizational outcomes,” he said. “We look forward to the ways she will continue to shape and strengthen AMBS’s communications and institutional voice.”

Koehler holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Music Business from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois (2012). She currently serves as a board member for the South Dakota Mennonite Relief Sale and for Friends of the Freeman Library. She attends Hutterthal Mennonite Church in Freeman, a congregation of Central Plains Mennonite Conference of Mennonite Church USA.

Located in Elkhart, Indiana, on ancestral land of the Potawatomi and Miami peoples, Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary is a learning community with an Anabaptist vision, offering theological education for learners both on campus and at a distance as well as a wide array of lifelong learning programs — all with the goal of educating followers of Jesus Christ to be leaders for God’s reconciling mission in the world. ambs.edu
