Seminary commencement to be held May 3

ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) — Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) will hold its 2025 Commencement Service on Saturday, May 3, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. EDT in the Chapel of the Sermon on the Mount on the AMBS campus in Elkhart, Indiana. The public is invited to attend via livestream at ambs.edu/graduation.
The service will honor 33 candidates for graduation who are completing degrees and certificates. Thirteen will earn a Master of Arts: Theology and Global Anabaptism; nine will earn a Master of Divinity; five will earn a Master of Arts: Theology and Peace Studies; and two will earn a Master of Arts in Christian Formation. Three students will receive a Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies, and one student will receive a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction.
Valerie Rempel, PhD, of Fresno, California, will bring the commencement address. She serves as Director of Accreditation for The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS), a position she has held since 2021. Prior to joining ATS, Rempel served for 25 years at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary at Fresno Pacific University (FPU), first as a faculty member and later as Dean and Vice President. She also was Director of the Center for Anabaptist Studies at FPU. Rempel is a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (now Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary). She has written for the California Mennonite Historical Society Bulletin, Direction, The Conrad Grebel Review and the Global Dictionary of Theology.
