About Tara

Tara has spent her entire working career in jobs where she has managed food services for a variety of programs, including a homeless shelter and a senior center in Philadelphia, as well as a school cafeteria at Bethany Christian Schools. These experiences have shaped her vision for creating high-quality meals for large groups, with a focus on local food, sustainability, and community.

Why I am at AMBS

Before coming to AMBS I have worked in a variety of settings from non-profits to K-12 schools. I have always been interested in talking about food, faith, culture, and thinking about history and placemaking through the lens of food. I have found AMBS to be a vibrant educational community where people are excited to talk about these issues. I enjoy cooking meals and providing hospitality in a place where people value local, sustainable, seasonal food and having conversations about food justice in our modern world.

What I do at AMBS

I am currently the Caterer in Residence at AMBS. I provide meals for any event happening on campus as well as monthly meals for the AMBS community.

How might students expect to interact with you?

I am always interested in talking about food, culture, and food traditions with anyone on campus. I have an interest in learning about recipes and cuisines from around the U.S. and all over the globe.
