Julia Schmidt, MDiv
Program Administrator, Thriving in Ministry Grant
About Julia
As the Program Administrator for the Thriving in Ministry Grant, Julia Schmidt provides direction and administration for the Ministry Reflection Circles program and for Transition to Leadership. She is also the organizer for the yearly Pastors & Leaders conference.
Julia started working at AMBS in 2019 when she was hired to start new programs for pastors to thrive in ministry through a Lilly Endowment funded initiative. As a pastor’s kid, she is passionate about creating spaces that understand and address the unique pressures of ministry. Julia loves her work at AMBS because she works closely with pastors at various stages of their careers to help them reflect on and develop their leadership skills. In 2023, she began serving as a part-time pastor at Faith Mennonite Church in Goshen, IN, which has given her firsthand experience that enhances her work at AMBS. Julia’s role at AMBS also enriches her own pastoral leadership, creating a mutually beneficial relationship.
In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, Lucy, and her husband, Jon, as well as birding, hiking, and traveling.
