How might a pastor begin to deal effectively with dysfunctional family systems and related dynamics in his or her congregation? How can a pastor avoid being caught in traps that sometimes emerge in congregational life because of the presence of these dysfunctional systems?

This daylong workshop will pay special attention to psychological understandings of dysfunctional family systems, theological reflection on the issue, appropriate pastoral responses, effects of such systems on congregational dynamics, and related available resources.

This event is part of a series of events focused on pastoral care issues. The series is planned specifically for pastors and seeks to explore issues from the perspective of congregational dynamics.
