Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration with Anthony Brown
AMBS will celebrate the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. with a time of sharing and song on The Arts and Resistance by Anthony Brown, internationally acclaimed baritone and promoter of peace and goodwill. In his presentation, Brown will reflect on how music’s role in social resistance. “It can bring people together, encourage the human spirit, soften hearts and serve as a catalyst for social change.” We will also sing together and experience the power of corporate singing.
As a licensed psychotherapist, Brown uses music to promote peace and reconciliation in countries where peoples' lives are torn by war and civil strife. His peace work has taken him to political hot spots such as Bosnia, Northern Ireland, China, Japan, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Uganda, South Korea and Ethiopia. In each venue, his stirring performances connected people across race, language, religion and culture-and helped them focus on how we're all one in the family of humanity.
